One Hit Wonders

One Hit Wonders...

A one hit wonder is a band that had a hit song, and you never heard from them again. I liken them to having no clue how they made it to the top of the stairs… to the top of their field. In this example, I use a staircase and explain why you should go step by step to be successful in anything you wish to achieve… ANYTHING!

Paul McCartney was in a musical band called The Beatles. In the beginning they played everywhere they could. Their music caught on and they drew bigger crowds and played in larger and larger venues. They (all members of the band) learned from the very beginning (the first step) what it took to begin gathering an audience. People started following them and this allowed them to progress to (the second step) booking bigger venues. In (the third step) they began to understand the costs of travel and set up and crew. They kept progressing and understanding the steps until they made it to the top of the staircase.

When the band split up, and Paul McCartney started his new group, Wings, it was easy for him to go to the top of the staircase because not only was he already known, but he knew each and every step involved to reach the top. One hit wonders have professional people who do the stairs for them, and when those people leave, the bands are not able to keep performing because they don’t truly know how involved the steps can be.

So, this is why I ask that you do all of the work involved (the reading and writing of a couple questions per chapter) and wait for the final bonus. Trust me… it will be worth it.
